I was born in Graz, the second largest city in Austria. Coming from a non-academic family background, my initial approach to education wasn’t very strategic. I studied at the University of Graz simply because it was my hometown. And since I always had to work during my studies, moving to a different city or country wasn’t on my radar at all.
